Default Sound issue

Not every time I play, but frequently, in the middle of playing, my sound shuts down. It doesn't shut down for other applications, but it will shut down for Guild Wars. Does anyone have an idea what could be going on here? TIA

Go to the sound settings within Guild Wars and turn it down to "Fastest" this should solve the problem. This is a known issue.

Thanks, I'll try that. As this problem seems to be hit or miss, I won't know if it has worked for a few days yet, but I'll let you know.

No dice. I tried it and both times I played yesterday (my husband happened to be on-line as well) I lost audio. One time when I was in an instance, and the second time when I was in town. I don't know the specs on my system, but I do know it meets the system requirements - although just barely on the video (this used to be my husband's system). Do you think it could be because we are networked, and both using bandwidth at the same time - therefore something ends up getting sacrificed? It may sound like a stupid question, but when my husband played GuildWars on this system a while ago, before we were networked, he didn't have these issues.

I do not think that beign networked has anything to do with your sound problem. Try this:

1 Open your control panel start ,control panel
2 Open the Sounds and audio devices
3 Press under Speaker settings "advanced"
4 click the "Performance" tab and lower the Hardware Acceleration slider to the first click above none.

Lets see how that does.

I got it figured out. I needed to update my sound drivers. Haven't had a problem since I did that.
